The Artist
Piotr Piecko, born in 1967 in Warsaw, studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts where he graduated in sculpture with Professor Grzegorz Kowalski. He then continued his studies at the Lausanne School of Fine and Applied Arts at the Faculty of Animation and Computer Graphics. He worked for many years as an art director, graphic designer and photographer for various publishing houses (Axel Springer, Murator, IDG, Valkea, New Media). Currently he is involved in painting, sculpture, photography, cinema and graphics in general. He conducts painting and drawing workshops. His favorite subjects are cityscapes characterized by strong chromatic contrasts, rhythm and unprecedented architectural perspectives. The artist also creates to portraits, usually on request. In recent years he has devoted himself to the creation of paintings that find their roots in his studies as a sculptor, pictorially interpreting classical sculpture. In such paintings, where white represents the predominant color, the artist aims at capturing the essence of marble.
L'Artista
Piotr Piecko è nato nel 1967 a Varsavia. Ha studiato presso l’Accademi di Belle Arti di Varsavia dove si è laureato in scultura con il Professor Grzegorz Kowalski. Ha poi continuato i suoi studi presso la Scuola di Belle Arti e Arti Applicate di Losanna presso la facoltà di Animazione e grafica computerizzata. Ha lavorato per molti anni come come art director, grafico e fotografo per diverse case editrici (Axel Springer, Murator, IDG, Valkea, New Media). Attualmente si occupa di pittura, scultura, fotografia, cinema e grafica in generale. Conduce laboratori di pittura e disegno. I suoi soggetti preferiti sono i paesaggi urbani caratterizzati da forti contrasti cromatici, ritmo e da inedite prospettive architettoniche. L’artista si dedica anche al ritratto, solitamente su richiesta. Negli ultimi anni si è dedicato alla realizzazione di dipinti che affondano le loro radici nella sua formazione come scultore, interpretando pittoricamente la scultura classica. In questi dipinti il bianco rappresenta il colore predominante, nella volontà di cogliere l’essenza del marmo.
